Our mission is our vision in action

Wajina Veterinary Hospital Ltd is an indigenous Company Limited by Guarantee ACN 670 226 169

This veterinary hospital is all about what can be done! We want to be different in a way that truly matters. With intention, knowing our why, we will dare to achieve more!

Every animal deserves best practice care regardless of species or size and that is the passion behind our drive to make this veterinary hospital the future of wildlife care.

The vision is to build a not for profit veterinary wildlife Hospital. This is an innovative Social Enterprise that will derive its income through providing veterinary service to domestic pets and by reinvesting the profits, provide medical treatment and care to injured native wildlife of the Pilbara Region.

Once built this veterinary hospital will be self-sustainable and is designed to serve the Pilbara Region, to function as a Social Enterprise and run/operate as a Not for Profit.

By providing a service to domestic animals this project gives everyone the opportunity to contribute towards the care of wildlife, knowing that a portion of their veterinary payment will go directly towards the care and treatment of wildlife in the Pilbara Region, as well as wildlife education and conservation.

The veterinary hospital will be assisted by a mobile Veterinary Van that will have the ability to provide the services of a full veterinary clinic to local towns and communities as well as to remote towns and isolated indigenous communities. This offers the opportunity for University veterinary students to gain valuable practical country experience during their training.

This veterinary Hospital will be flexible enough to cope with the economic fluctuations experienced here in the Pilbara while continuing to contribute towards the economic and community development of the region.

As a not for profit, this hospital will be able to engage with the community on numerous levels and because it aligns with key strategic programs it will have the ability to empower people along with the ability to work with various local organisations and programs. In particular with indigenous people through alignment with strategies such as “Closing the Gap”, “Caring for Country” and indigenous ranger programs.

This veterinary wildlife hospital will be a turning point in wildlife conservation and will pave the way for
others to follow. It is a model for other wildlife groups around the country to follow, on how to become self-sustainable, and change forever the need to fund raise and apply for grants in order to keep operating.

The project will create jobs, promote the natural environment, raise awareness, educate the public, and continue to provide a service to communities, industry and the mining sector…… and provide one essential element - proper veterinary medical care and treatment for the regions native fauna.

The proposed Vet hospital is innovative.

Innovation is about changes that lead to growth and differentiation.

Innovative design is thoughtful, appropriate and ambitious, it comes from pushing beyond the expected, and demonstrates new thinking that can solve a problem in a new way, and that is exactly what this social enterprise is all about.
